Luis LOMBARDIA currently serves as the Head of the Molecular Diagnostics Unit at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) since June 2007. Previously, LOMBARDIA held the position of Associate Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from February 2015 to July 2017, and worked as a Research Associate in the Genomics Unit at the Fundación Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas Carlos III from November 2001 to May 2007. Prior experience includes a role as an R&D Engineer (post-doc) at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives from January 2000 to October 2001, and positions in phytosanitary experimentation at AGRISEARCH UK and MBGSA in France during the 1990s. LOMBARDIA obtained a PhD in Biological Sciences from Universidade da Coruña (1994-1998) and a Maitrise in Sciences Naturelles from the University of Montpellier (1988-1991).
