Mark Vella

Mark Vella is an experienced finance professional with a robust background in securities, custody, and investment management. Currently serving as Manager of Securities & Custody at Sparkasse Bank Malta plc since October 2019, Mark previously held the position of Deputy Manager in the same department. Prior experience includes roles as Investment Manager at Calamatta Cuschieri Investment Management Ltd from September 2012 to October 2019, and Head of Treasury Operations at Calamatta Cuschieri & Co. Ltd from August 2011 to September 2012. Mark also worked as Investment Manager Fixed Income & Structured Products and Senior Investment Officer at HSBC Global Asset Management (Malta) Ltd. from January 2006 to July 2011. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Malta, completed between 2001 and 2005, and has academic roots at G.F. Abela Junior College and Stella Maris College.
