Matt Ruxton

Matt Ruxton has extensive work experience in the sports and events industry. Matt started their career in 1998 as the Operations Director and Assistant Event Director at Summit Sports and Events. From there, they worked as an Event Coordinator at Octagon in 2000 and later as the Northeast Regional Manager and Event Director at Host Communications in 2001. In 2004, Matt joined Special Olympics Massachusetts as the Director of Sports Management and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Sports Management in 2006. Matt also held the position of Assistant Sport Manager for Special Olympics USA from 2010 to 2011. In 2013, Matt became the Vice President of Sports and Operations at Special Olympics Massachusetts, a role they currently hold. Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated their strong leadership and management skills in the sports and events industry.

Matt Ruxton obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certifications as a Unified Sports Instructor from Special Olympics International in August 2004. Matt also holds a CPR & First Aid certification from the American Red Cross, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
