Thon de Boer

Thon de Boer is a highly experienced data scientist and product manager specializing in bioinformatics and genomic technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Specie Bio since February 2024, Thon has developed a data ingestion pipeline and request management application employing Machine Learning and AI for processing medical and specimen data. Prior to this role, Thon held various significant positions, including Principal Software Engineer at Illumina, Director of Product Management at BlueBee, and Product Manager for BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot at Dassault Systèmes. With a robust background in the Life Sciences sector, Thon has successfully led projects that integrate bioinformatics and data science into innovative software solutions, contributing to advancements in genetic analysis and diagnostics. Thon earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
