Anton Smith has a diverse work experience in the technology and telecommunications industry. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Senior IP Technologist at Alcatel-Lucent New Zealand before moving to Siminn Iceland as an IP Engineer in 2006. From 2008 to 2012, they served as an IPD Technical Consultant / Presales at Alcatel-Lucent, specializing in the architecture and design of IP/MPLS networks. At Ericsson, they held roles as an IP Market Development Manager and Senior Product Manager from 2012 to 2016, focusing on 5G transport and IP routers. In 2016, they joined Nuage Networks from Nokia as a Product Line Manager.

In 2017, Anton became the VP Product at Nectarine Health, where they were responsible for the product and technical stack and architecture. Anton also served as an Advisor before taking on the role of CTO and Head of Product, leading the hiring and team building efforts. Moving on to Payerbee in 2021, they assumed the position of Chief Technology Officer.

Anton joined Canonical in 2021 as a Product Manager before transitioning to their current role at gateway.fm as a Strategy Advisor. Recently, they joined Spectro Cloud as the Head of Product, overseeing Kubernetes services and ensuring control, visibility, monitoring, cluster service assurance, and compliance.

Throughout their career, Anton has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including cloud-native services, native services, and mobile backhaul.

Anton Smith has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Massey University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2001. During the same period, they also pursued a BInfSc degree in Computer Science and Information Systems, although the specific school name for this degree is not provided.

In 2010 to 2012, Anton attended Alcatel-Lucent University, where they completed a program called Stretch/Boost in Executive Management.

Aside from their formal education, Anton also holds a certification as a Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) from The Linux Foundation, which they obtained in January 2023.
