Ettore Di Giacinto

Ettore Di Giacinto has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology industry. Ettore is currently the Head of Open Source at Spectro Cloud, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to this, Ettore worked at Sabayon Linux as a Project Leader and Developer starting in April 2015. In this role, they were responsible for chief architecture, cycle release management, software and repository maintenance, and infrastructure management. Ettore also created and maintained the "Sabayon Community Repositories" infrastructure and made bugfixes and contributions to upstream projects.

Ettore also worked at SUSE in multiple roles. Ettore was a Staff Software Engineer from July 2022 to August 2022, where they led the Elemental project and designed open-source solutions for the Edge and Cloud. From September 2020 to July 2022, they served as an Open Source Software Developer Specialist. Before that, they were a Senior Open Source Software Developer from December 2018 to December 2020 and a Senior Software Engineer in QA from May 2017 to November 2018. At SUSE, they worked on projects such as SUSE Cloud Foundry (SCF), KubeCF, and various Cloud Foundry Community projects.

Additionally, Ettore has worked as a Developer at Gentoo Linux from October 2016 to February 2021. Ettore was also a CPAN Developer for CPAN from an unknown start date to January 2020. At Spike Pentesting, they served as a Repository Coordinator and Lead Developer from May 2013 to an unknown end date.

In their earlier career, Ettore was a Google Summer of Code Mentor at Google in 2014. Ettore also worked as a freelance writer for Hakin9 Italia from October 2006 to December 2007, and for Linux Magazine Italy from September 2007 to November 2007. Before that, they worked as an IT Consultant and Computer Programmer at Multicom from March 2006 to March 2007, where they administered and set up wireless networks and worked as a PHP/ASP Programmer using MSSQL Server.

Ettore Di Giacinto completed their education in the field of Informatics. Ettore first obtained their Laurea degree in Informatica Applicata from Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo, studying from 2010 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a master's degree in Informatica Magistrale with a focus on Sistemi e Reti from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, graduating in 2015.
