Juliann Barreto started in the gaming industry in 2007 working for Ernst & Young, where she advised private equity firms in the acquisition of hotels and casinos. Specifically, she led forensic investigations of casino applicants and worked with gaming regulators to review such applicant’s suitability for gaming licensure. Barreto investigated applicants for major gaming corporations such as Harrah’s Entertainment, The Palms and Penn National Gaming.
Barreto joined Spectrum in 2018, bringing with her more than 15 years of experience in accounting, finance and forensic investigative experience. At Spectrum she oversees the accounting functions and growth strategies. She also acts as the Financial Director for the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States, for which Spectrum serves as Executive Director.
Prior to joining Spectrum, Barreto was chief financial officer of an International Restaurant and Real Estate Group. At Aoki Group Inc., Juliann oversaw all finance and accounting functions, as well as real estate investment and business development. Previously, she was a Senior in Assurance and Advisory at Ernst & Young, and the Chief Budget Officer and Treasurer at the University of Miami Graduate School.
Barreto holds a BA in Accounting and Finance and a Master’s of Professional Accounting and Financial Planning from the University of Miami. She is a member of the AICPA and founder of a 501(c)3 education fund.
