David Morton

David Morton is a seasoned Banking lawyer with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as Founding Partner at Spencer West LLP since October 2021, David previously held the position of Partner and Head of Banking in Scotland at DLA Piper from December 2010 to October 2021. David's expertise lies in advising banks and companies on various finance matters, with a specialization in acquisition finance, real estate finance, and restructuring. Earlier in their career, David was a Partner in Banking & Finance at Dundas & Wilson and served as a Senior Solicitor at the Bank of Scotland. David holds an LLB (Hons) DipLP in Law from the University of Glasgow, obtained between 1979 and 1984, and attended Douglas Academy in Milngavie from 1973 to 1979.
