Irene Wu Alam

Irene Wu Alam is an experienced educator with a strong background in elementary and gifted education. Currently serving as a teacher at The Speyer Legacy School since June 2015, Irene previously held positions as a 2nd grade teacher at Horace Mann School and as a student teacher in both G&T and 5th grade classrooms in New York City. Irene's teaching philosophy emphasizes high academic expectations, personal growth, and fostering a diverse, respectful community. Irene's training as a clinician, mentor, and trainer at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes further enhanced skills in supporting students with learning differences. Irene holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Bryn Mawr College.
