Andrew Pelling

Andrew Pelling's work experience includes being a Co-Founder at Sugar Coated Technologies in 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto starting in April 2022. Andrew also worked as a Mentor in the Health Stream at the Creative Destruction Lab since 2017. In 2015, they co-founded Spiderwort Inc. and served as the Chief Scientific Officer. From 2008 to 2018, they held multiple roles at the University of Ottawa, including Full Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Affiliate Member, and Canada Research Chair. Andrew was also a TED Senior Fellow at TED Conferences since 2017 and served as the Co-Founder and Director of pHacktory since 2016. From 2018 to 2022, they were a Co-founder at Incuvers, a platform connecting researchers worldwide for collaboration. Andrew has also been an Honorary Research Fellow and Raine Medical Research Foundation Visiting Professor at The University of Western Australia. Additionally, they served as a Resident at SymbioticA and as an Editorial Board Member for Nature Scientific Reports.

Andrew Pelling obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Chemistry from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Following that, they pursued a PhD in Physical Chemistry at UCLA from 2001 to 2005.
