Jill Stanton has over 25 years of experience in software development and management. Jill is currently the Director of Software Development at SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, where they have been working since 2019. Prior to this, they worked as an IT Development Manager at the same company starting from 2011.
Before joining SPIE, Jill worked at Advantage Factory as a Senior Developer/Consultant from 2009 to 2011. Jill was responsible for the development management and implementation of a custom Enterprise Scheduling Tool for the USAF 505th CCW.
From 2007 to 2009, Jill worked as a Software Engineer at Previser Corporation. Jill was in charge of designing and developing a periodontal risk assessment tool and maintaining .NET web services and SQL Server databases.
Earlier in their career, Jill worked at Attachmate as a Software Engineer and Project Development Lead for various projects involving patch management, database development, and reporting. Jill also worked at Microsoft Corporation as an SDET and at Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology as an Instructor.
Jill's experience also includes working as a Development Lead at Etera, where they led a UI development group for a large-scale e-commerce site, and as a Software Engineer at HiT Software, where they developed database drivers supporting ODBC, OLEDB, and JDBC.
