Luis Salas has been working in the graphic design and animation industry since 2001. Luis began their career as a Senior Graphic Designer at Tere Suarez, where they designed for Sony Latin artists, Jennifer Lopez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Grupomania, Olga Tañon, Popular Mortgage, Agustin Lugo Nissan, and San Juan Government. In 2004, they became a Graphic Design Professor at Atlantic University College, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and acting as a thesis advisor. From 2009 to 2011, Salas was the Graphic Design Program Leader and Professor at Huertas Junior College, where they directed the graphic design program and managed professors while teaching courses and designing ad campaigns and corporate materials. From 2011 to 2017, they were a Professor of Graphic Design & Interactive and Program Chair at Valencia College, where they directed the graphic design program and managed professors while teaching courses and designing the curriculum. In 2017, Salas began working at Spincast TV as the VP/Product Development & Design, where they were the director of product development and design for the user interface and experience (UI/UX) for the smart phone, tablet, web, and television. Currently, they work as a Graphic Design / Animation / Visual Arts Professor at USC.
Luis Salas has a long educational history. Luis began their studies in 1994 at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine Arts in 2000. Luis then continued their studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Graphic Design in 2004. Finally, they returned to the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2016 and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design and Visual Experience in 2018.
