Dimuthu Tilakaratne has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. From 2014 onwards, they worked at Spirit AeroSystems as a Lead Stress Engineer, specifically focusing on the Airbus A350 S15 Fuselage Section. In this role, they developed documentation for First Flight Justification and EASA Type Certification of the A350XWB -900 & -1000 Center Fuselage section. They also performed analysis to determine the fatigue and damage tolerance life of primary structural components and evaluated the feasibility of proposed repairs for non-conformities. Prior to this, Dimuthu worked at the National Institute for Aviation Research from 2005 to 2014, where they held the positions of Senior Research Engineer and Research Engineer.
Dimuthu Tilakaratne received a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University in 2004. Later, from 2006 to 2012, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Aerospace Engineering at the same institution. In 2013, Dimuthu went on to acquire a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance from Wichita State University.
