Zachary Koons

Zachary Koons is a seasoned sports journalism professional with a diverse background in editorial roles and broadcasting. Currently serving as Programming Editor, Breaking/Trending News Editor, and Breaking/Trending News Writer at Sports Illustrated since February 2022, Zachary previously worked as a Staff Writer for The Spun, publishing over 60 digital stories weekly focused on NFL, NBA, and NCAA football. Earlier experience includes roles as a Data Collection Agent at Stats Perform, where advanced AI training for sports analytics was developed, and as a Staff Broadcaster at WNUR Sports, where Zachary covered 40 live sporting events annually. Additional internships at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Northwestern University provided valuable experience in reporting and communications.
