Will Huffman has a diverse range of work experience. Will worked at SPR Therapeutics, Inc. as a Research Engineer starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were a Neural Prosthetics Researcher at Duke University from August 2017 to December 2022. In this role, they researched novel approaches to vagus nerve stimulation, resulting in a patented method and multiple conference presentations and peer-reviewed papers. Before that, they worked as a Brain Computer Interface Researcher at Duke University from January 2015 to May 2016, where they analyzed and provided technical support for behavior tasks using non-human primates. Will also designed and implemented eye-tracking hardware that was presented at a conference. Additionally, Will worked as a Biotechnology Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee from September 2012 to May 2014, where they developed software tools for post-processing and analysis of mass spectrometry data. Will'searliest work experience was as an Industrial Engineering Intern at Roper Industries from August 2011 to December 2011, where they gained experience in engineering disciplines in an industrial/assembly setting.
Will Huffman attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2011 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Will then went on to Duke University, where they pursued a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from 2014 to 2016. After completing their master's, they continued their education at Duke University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Engineering from 2017 to 2022.
