Lisa Habighorst

Lisa Habighorst started their work experience as an Elementary School Teacher at Sacred Heart Elementary School in Klamath Falls, OR from September 1987 to June 1990. Lisa then became a Mathematics Teacher at Clark County School District from October 1990 to June 2001. In July 2001, they joined Spread the Word Nevada as the Chief Executive Officer and later took on the role of Executive Director. Under their leadership, the organization experienced significant growth, becoming a $5 million premier nonprofit serving 42,000 children a month with books, family literacy events, and mentoring buddies for struggling readers. Lisa remained in this role until December 2021.

Lisa Habighorst attended Sacred Heart High School in Klamath Falls, OR from 1979 to 1983. Lisa then pursued their undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at Oregon State University from 1983 to 1987. Later, Lisa earned their Masters of Education Administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas between 2000 and 2003.
