Katie Shay has a diverse work experience in the mental health field. Most recently, they worked as a Care Navigator at Spring Health since August 2022. Prior to that, they spent two years as a Mental Health Therapist at Dayton Children's Hospital from April 2020 to August 2022. Katie also served as an Intervention Specialist at Mary Haven Youth Center from October 2018 to April 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Child and Adolescent Supervisor at Solutions Community Counseling and Recovery Center from March 2018 to October 2018 and as a Child and Adolescent Therapist at the same organization from July 2015 to March 2018. Earlier in their career, Katie was an MSW intern at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, providing behavioral health services to veterans suffering from chronic pain, and a Homicide Unit Victim Advocate at the Cincinnati Police Department, where they supported families who lost a loved one to homicide.
Katie Shay completed their education at the University of Cincinnati. Katie obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Social Work from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the same university, which they completed between 2010 and 2014. In addition to their formal education, Katie has also obtained various certifications including "Cybersecurity at Work" from LinkedIn in August 2022 and "Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certification" from the TF-CBT National Certification Program in April 2020.
