Alex Scranton has been involved as a performer, volunteer, or staff member at Springfield Little Theatre for nearly fifteen years. His first experience with the theatre was at the age of 6 when he attended a six-week education class – and as they say, the rest is history. Alex went on to perform in numerous productions on the Landers stage; Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! JR., Big River, Hairspray, and Legally Blonde to name a few, and is a graduate of Springfield Little Theatre’s Y.E.S. Troupe. However, Alex found his true passion in arts administration and design. He started his work in the arts at Springfield Ballet then later became a full-time member of Springfield Little Theatre’s professional staff as a member of the Marketing and Development department. Alex then joined Shoji Entertainments, Inc. (The Shoji Tabuchi Show) as the Director of Marketing & Promotions. In that position, he also toured the United States as a member of Tabuchi’s production team for three seasons. Alex has designed multimedia projections for numerous Springfield Little Theatre productions as well as for Springfield Regional Opera, Springfield Ballet, and the Springfield Regional Arts Council. His work in marketing, media development, and web design has been nationally recognized by such organizations as the Journalism Educators Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. He is the proud recipient of a Mid-American Student Emmy Award, Pacemaker Award, and his design and media work have been seen in arts and nonprofit organizations across the nation.
