Cortez Luttrell

Cortez Luttrell is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as a Patrol Officer for the City of Springfield, Illinois, since January 2024. Additionally, Cortez provides armed security for Springfield Public Schools District 186, a role held since December 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Deputy Sheriff at the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office, where responsibilities focused on community partnership and law enforcement from December 2020 to January 2024. Cortez has also worked as a Police Officer in various departments, including the Riverton Police Department, Edinburg Police Department, Jerome Police Department, City of Leland Grove, and Girard Police Department. Before embarking on a law enforcement career, Cortez gained experience in customer service as a Crew Trainer at McDonald's from August 2012 to May 2018. Educationally, Cortez Luttrell attended MacMurray College from 2015 to 2021.
