Morgan Keim

Founder & CEO at Sprouted Ventures

The idea for Sprouted Ventures came to Morgan during his MBA program at UCLA. What if they took world-class corporate pedigree fused with entrepreneurial scrappiness to build the next generation of climate-friendly tech-driven startups? They bring world-class business acumen to the smartest scientific teams in solving the world's biggest challenges.

This has been Morgan's focus for close to a decade now. A big brand marketer in his first career, Morgan transitioned into the food-tech space with Impossible Foods in 2015, building key Commercial strategy nodes that successfully launched its plant-based burger into global food service markets.

He leveraged this success to secure a Marketing Director role at a >$25M natural food brand before focusing on Sprouted Ventures. Among his client successes, Morgan drove critical market-building work for Ginkgo Bioworks that led to the spin-out and $90M Series A for Motif FoodWorks. Seeing an opportunity for massive growth with the ingredient-tech pioneer, Morgan joined Motif and led various roles between its Commercial and Corporate Development teams. He developed commercial and corporate architecture, signed initial customer and strategic partnership contracts, lead its investor relations and fundraising functions, and drove technology strategy/partnerships with first-to-the-industry results. Among the most notable results, Morgan originated more than $100M of new committed capital to Motif's record-breaking $226M Series B.

His efforts have helped to contribute over $750M in cumulative venture funding to start-ups in the plant-based food-tech space. Now, he wakes up each day energetically inspired to help food-tech clients find product-market fit, accelerate sales and achieve the global impact they deserve.
