In 1997, they enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, pursuing a Bachelor of Technology degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Gopi successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2001. Following this, they furthered their education at Mississippi State University from 2002 to 2003, earning a Master's degree in Computational Science.
