Holly Hosie has always been passionate about the environment. Holly has worked in environmental management for over 10 years, in a variety of roles. Holly is currently Knowledge and Information Support at SQ Landscapes. Holly has previously worked as a Senior Environmental Advisor for Origin Energy, and as Regional Coordinator - Biodiversity & Pest Management for the Queensland Murray Darling Committee Inc.
In their current role, Holly provides support to SQ Landscapes’ environmental management systems. Holly also develops and delivers awareness training for SQ Landscapes’ staff and contractor teams.
Holly has achieved many great things throughout their career. Holly was instrumental in developing and delivering engaging training for Origin Energy’s site staff in the areas of property hygiene, weed identification, pest animal management and special values. Holly also prepared the site for compliance audits and participated in the audits themselves.
At QMDC, Holly managed the development, funding and delivery of projects associated with vegetation, biodiversity and pest management initiatives. Holly also provided strategic direction to the team, enabling them to maintain an effective, efficient and compliant operation. Holly liaised extensively with key stakeholders relating to project requirements.
During their time at QMDC, Holly assisted in disaster relief efforts coordinated across the Queensland Murray Darling Basin. Holly also delivered fauna and flora inventories across key areas of the Queensland Murray Darling Basin. Holly co-developed work plans for vegetation and biodiversity staff, as well as delivering Australian Government Funded tenders focusing on hotspot areas and the Environment Protection & Biodiversity Conservation Act listed vegetation communities. Holly improved the staff’s technical knowledge and ability to deliver projects successfully by developing a range of technical guidelines and training programs.

Holly Hosie completed a Bachelor of Science at James Cook University, majoring in Zoology with a focus on Wildlife Conservation and Management.
