Dan Smith has over 20 years of work experience in the field of product and experience design. Dan began their career in 1999 as an Experience Designer at iXL, Inc. (Razorfish). In 2001, they moved to Disney Parks & Resorts as a Snr. Product & Experience Designer (contract). In 2007, Dan joined UC Berkeley Hass School of Business as a Course Instructor and Ciber Global as a Sr. Product & Experience Designer. From 2009 to 2011, Dan worked at TIAA (Kaspick & Company) as a Lead User Experience Designer and at Front Foot (Publicis) as Head of User Experience Strategy - Mobile Apps. From 2012 to 2016, they worked at Westpac as a Senior Customer Experience Design Manager, and from 2016 to 2018, they were the Director of Human Centred Design at Westpac Group. Dan most recently joined Capital One in 2018 as a Snr. Director - Head of Small Business Card UX Design, and in 2020, they became the Head of Product at Squeeze.

Dan Smith attended the Academy of Art University from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Web Design. In 2017 to 2018, they attended AGSM @ UNSW Business School, where they obtained a Certificate of Executive Leadership. In 2012, they were certified as a Scrum Product Owner by the Scrum Alliance.
