Jon Commers

Jon Commers is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in urban planning, real estate development, and public policy. Currently serving as Senior Director at SRF Consulting Group since November 2024, Jon leads a team that integrates data tools and analysis to enhance client decision-making. As Principal at Donjek Reinvestment Strategies since 2007, Jon collaborates on redevelopment projects, exemplified by the award-winning Leijona in Duluth. Additionally, Jon has been an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Minnesota since 2014, teaching courses on public-private sector interaction. Previously, Jon served in significant roles including Council Member for the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities and Chair of the Planning Commission for the City of Saint Paul. Educational credentials include a BA in History and Political Economy from Carleton College, an MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, and a Policy Fellowship from the University of Minnesota.
