Randy Tifft has a diverse work experience in the field of law enforcement and corrections. Randy started their career as a Correctional Officer in 1990 and worked their way up to various supervisory roles, including Correctional Officer Sergeant and Lieutenant. In 2000, they became a Correctional Officer Major, and later served as a Correctional Officer Colonel.
In 2004, Randy transitioned to the role of Assistant Warden before becoming a Warden in 2005. Randy was responsible for overseeing a Major Correctional Institution and managing various units, including Work Camps and Community Work Release Centers.
In 2012, Randy joined the Florida Department of Corrections as the Regional Director of Region III. In this position, they had overall responsibility for 16 state-operated major correctional facilities, 2 private facilities, 21 Work Release Centers, and 20 satellites facilities. Randy managed a large staff, inmate population, and budget while implementing innovative programs to reduce recidivism and improve community safety.
In 2017, Randy joined the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office as a Major and was later promoted to the position of Chief Deputy in 2023. Additionally, they served as a Colonel in the same agency from 2019 to 2023.
