Senior Asset Risk & Investment Engineer / Business Case Lead at SSEN Transmission

Nik S. has a diverse range of work experience in various industries and roles. Starting in 2006, Nik worked as a Project Engineer and Acting Project Manager for a renewable energy project. In 2008, they joined Schlumberger as a Field Service Engineer. Following that, Nik held positions at ConocoPhillips as an Electrical Operations & Maintenance Engineer and Power Management System Engineer. They then worked at Shell as an Offshore Electrical Commissioning Engineer.

In 2013, Nik joined LUKOIL Mid-East Limited where they served as a Senior Commissioning Engineer, Instrument Engineer, Control System Engineer, and Asset Warranty Lead for a gas power plant project. After LUKOIL, Nik worked at EV Private Equity as an Investment Consultant. They then joined Westwood Global Energy Group as a Commercial Consultant and Calash as a Deputy Project Manager.

Currently, Nik is working at SSEN Transmission as a Senior Asset Risk & Investment Engineer / Business Case Lead, responsible for overseeing capital project portfolios and leading a team in preparing business cases for investment into power transmission infrastructure. Nik also has an MBA degree from Robert Gordon University, where they graduated with distinction and won the Business Simulation Contest in 2018.

Nik S. obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Electric Drives and Automation of Industrial Plants and Technological Complexes from Ural State Technical University in 2008 through full-time study. From 2012 to 2015, Nik pursued a part-time Master's degree in Enterprise Economics and Management in the Oil and Gas Industry at Tomsk Polytechnic University. In 2017 and 2018, Nik completed a full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Robert Gordon University. Additionally, Nik obtained certifications in APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) from the Association for Project Management, Certificate in Asset Management from The Institute of Asset Management, and Emergency First Aid at Work 6 Hour Level 3 (VTQ) - EFAW from ProTrainings Europe Ltd in 2022.
