David Debortoli

Environmental Scientist I at ST JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT

David Debortoli is an experienced environmental scientist currently serving as an Environmental Scientist I at the St. Johns River Water Management District since January 2018 and as a Field Water Quality Technician 3 at the South Florida Water Management District since March 2016. Previously, David worked as a Biological Technician at Continental Shelf Associates, focusing on monitoring and mitigation programs for beach restoration and coral relocation projects. David's early career includes a role as a Research Assistant at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, where responsibilities included the implementation of operational procedures for the LOBO stations and conducting nutrient analysis of macroalgae. David's foundational experience includes serving as a Petty Officer Third Class Aviation Electronics Technician in the US Navy, performing inspections on A/F-18C Hornet aircraft. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from Florida Atlantic University and an Associate of Arts in Biology from Palm Beach Community College.
