Liz Buckman

Liz Buckman is an experienced educator and community leader with a specialized focus on supporting individuals with visual impairments. Currently serving as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Blind at Washington County Public Schools since August 2020, Liz also co-founded Emmitsburg Cares in July 2016, a grassroots organization addressing the opioid crisis in North Frederick County. Additional roles include serving as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Catholic Church since August 2019 and previously working as a Special Education Teacher at Springfield Middle School. Liz's education includes a Master's in Special Education and Teaching from Marymount University and a Master's in Education, specializing in Orientation Mobility and Teacher of the Visually Impaired from the University of Pittsburgh.
