Kurt Engel

Kurt Engel has extensive experience in both education and military sectors, currently serving as a Substitute Teacher for St. Mary's County Public Schools since September 2021. Engel has held a long-term position as Business Development Manager at Raytheon since April 2013, focusing on product support and ensuring customer satisfaction within Naval weapons platforms. Prior roles include Senior Business Development Manager, where Engel developed opportunities for unmanned vehicle and command and control products. Additionally, Engel has been involved with PMA 209, 263 Naval Air Systems Command since 1990 as Integrated Program Team Lead for unmanned aerial systems, and previously worked at Engility Corporation managing contracts and personnel. Engel's early career included engineering roles with NAVAIR and service as a Commander in the US Navy, specializing in helicopter ASW operations. Engel holds an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a dual BS in Marine Engineering and Nautical Science from the US Merchant Marine Academy.
