Michelle Balser Peterson is an experienced educator and business owner with a diverse background in early childhood education and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as an Early Childhood Educator and Reading Specialist at St. Peter Lutheran School since August 2019, Michelle has developed over 500 data-based lesson plans to support students' learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to this role, Michelle worked at Pontiac Academy for Excellence, where 100% of Title 1 students surpassed their RIT goals in reading. Michelle also has extensive experience as a business owner at Shelly's High End Collectibles, successfully managing the sale of 25,000 collectibles valued over $1,000,000 over 22 years and educating groups on eBay success. Michelle holds a Master's degree in Teaching with a concentration in Reading Specialist from Oakland University and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University Ann Arbor. Additional experience includes early childhood education at St. John Lutheran School and coaching cheerleading teams.
