Nakia J. has over 17 years of accounting experience. Nakia began their career in 2003 as an Accounting Representative at Health Net of California. In this role, they allocated routine employer group payments for the entire region, reconciled monthly balances, aging and unapplied cash, and handled internal and external inquiries related to billing, rates, and membership. In 2005, they moved to Blue Cross of California as an Accountant, where they prepared and posted month end journal entries to general ledger accounts including adjustments and closing entries, analyzed records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries, and performed audits to make sure that the department was compliant with SOX controls. In 2007, they joined Prosum, Inc. as a Senior Accountant, where they were responsible for monthly general ledger close as well as financial statement preparation, reduced the monthly close timeline from 12 days to 8, and prepared and recorded accounting journal entries, reconciled accounting data and communicated results to management. In 2010, they moved to LifeHouse Health Services as a Senior Accountant, where they prepared month end and correcting journal entries, reconciled balance sheet accounts including payroll, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and suspense accounts, and was responsible for monthly expenses accrual analysis. In 2012, they joined Payment Systems as an Accounting Manager, where they managed and supervised daily operations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, payroll, and general ledger for multiple entities, managed, assigned, and reviewed the daily workload of accounting and payroll staff, and was responsible for month end close activities and all related deadlines. Most recently, in 2014, they joined Stability HealthCare as an Accounting Manager.
