Larry Thompson, PMP has over 40 years of professional experience in various industries, beginning with Intel in 1976 as a R&D Electrical Design Engineer. Larry then moved to HP Labs in 1979 as a Design Engineer, where they designed and developed the HCTL1000 motion control integrated circuit. In 1996, they joined Hewlett-Packard as a Project Manager and HW/SW Design Engineer. During their tenure at HP, they managed Telecommunications and Engineering projects and developed LAN DDB (driver debugger) for hp-ux (unix).
In 2005, Larry Thompson, PMP joined the City of Fremont as a Recreation Commissioner. From 1998 to 2016, they were a Coach and Project Management Consultant for Fremont Youth Soccer, where they provided consulting and training to the Tournament Director and worked with the Board of Directors to restructure the organization. Larry also served on the FC Fremont Board of Directors as Director of Field Operations and Tournament Director.
From 2010 to 2016, Larry Thompson, PMP was a Release & Project Manager for Velos Inc, where they managed multiple multi-national product releases in the fields of Clinical Trials and Regenerative Medicine. Larry also introduced Agile methodology to the company and provided training and monitoring on how Agile principals apply to projects and releases. During this same period, they were a Program Manager for Stafa Cellular Therapy, where they managed multiple multi-national product releases in the fields of Cellular Therapy and Regenerative Medicine. Larry also developed and provided coaching and training in customer facing projects, establishing processes for PMs to use for all phases of project lifecycle. Additionally, they worked as a Security Officer for StaffPro from 2016.
Larry Thompson, PMP has an education history that includes a BSIEOR from the University of California, Berkeley from 1982 to 1986. Larry then obtained an Associate's Certificate in Project Management (ACPM) from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, they received their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Additionally, in September 2015, they obtained a Guard Card - BSIS from the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services.
