Dr. Irene Ondieki has over 15 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. Irene is currently the Vice President of Nursing Services at Stamford Health, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Clinical Director of Nursing Services at Montefiore Health System from January 2021 to April 2023.
Dr. Ondieki has also held various leadership roles at RWJBarnabas Health, including Director of Nursing. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations and implementing improvement initiatives, resulting in a decrease in Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPI) and improved patient satisfaction ratings.
Before joining RWJBarnabas Health, Dr. Ondieki worked at St. Peter's University Hospital as a Staff Registered Nurse, providing hands-on patient care in the ICU and telemetry units. Dr. Irene was recognized as a top-performing nurse by patients during their time there.
Additionally, Dr. Ondieki has experience as an Assistant Director at Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where they led nursing department operations and ensured quality care for geriatric patients. Dr. Irene also served as a Unit Manager at Willow Creek Nursing & Rehab and worked as a Staff Registered Nurse at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

Dr. Irene Ondieki DNP NEA-BC, RN-BC has an extensive education history. Dr. Irene earned an Associate's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Bishop College in 2007. Dr. Irene then pursued a Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration from American Sentinel College, completing it in 2013. In 2018, Dr. Ondieki obtained their highest academic achievement, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Grand Canyon University. In terms of certifications, they achieved the Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in June 2020 and the Medical-Surgical Nursing (RN-BC) certification in October 2010.
