Lucia Brunel

Lucia Brunel is a dedicated Chemical Engineering PhD candidate at Stanford University since September 2019, where research efforts are focused in Prof. Sarah Heilshorn's biomaterials lab within the Department of Materials Science. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Assistant and MPhil student at the University of Cambridge from September 2018 to August 2019, and as a Research Assistant at Northwestern University from January 2016 to June 2018 in the polymer science and engineering lab of Prof. John Torkelson. Additional research experience encompasses a summer role as an REU Summer Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017 and a summer project at Politecnico di Milano in 2015. Early career development included internships at SACHEM, Inc. and the University of Texas at Austin's Biomedical Engineering Research Lab. Educationally, Lucia Brunel holds a BS/MS in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Northwestern University and an MPhil in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, alongside ongoing doctoral studies at Stanford, set to conclude in 2025.
