Aida Ahmad has extensive work experience in journalism and writing. Aida started their career as a Journalist at New Straits Times, where they covered a wide range of topics including business, sports, crime, and politics. Aida then joined The Expat Group, where they produced articles for expatriates living in Malaysia and eventually became a Contributing Editor. Aida also worked as a Fellow at the Alfred Friendly Press Partners & Daniel Pearl Foundation, spending six months in the United States producing stories and columns for the Los Angeles Times. Aida later worked as a Senior Writer at Star Media Group Berhad, focusing on local news and lifestyle articles in the Klang Valley and Malaysia. Aida also worked as a Freelance Writer for Zester Daily. Aida'swork has been recognized with awards, including Best News Reporting at the Malaysian Press Institute Awards in 2022.
Aida Ahmad pursued a Master's degree in Counselling at Open University Malaysia from 2021 to 2023. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communications and Media Management at the University of South Australia between 2007 and 2009. Aida began their education journey with a Diploma in Journalism from Taylor's College Petaling Jaya, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006.
