Grant Nicholas

Grant Nicholas is a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and services in cloud environments. Currently at Starburst since November 2021, Grant specializes in data replication and tracking using technologies such as Kotlin, Spark, and Kafka. Prior to Starburst, Grant held positions at SpotHero where significant achievements included improving data quality by 90% through a comprehensive overhaul of event tracking processes. Experience also includes continuous integration and deployment automation on AWS at HomeAway, big data batch processing at Nielsen Marketing ROI, and full-stack development early in Grant's career. Grant holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University, complemented by relevant internships and research experiences.
