Tony Fairburn

Software Development Team Lead at StarCompliance

Tony Fairburn has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career.

Tony started out in 1991 as a Software Engineer at Spectra-Tek Ltd, where they led a team of developers and worked on software development projects in C and C++. Tony continued in this role until 1996.

From 1996 to 1997, Tony worked as a Software Developer at HSBC.

In 1997, they moved on to Premiere Global Services where they became the Global Services UK Manager. Tony held this position until 2007.

Tony then joined StarCompliance in 2007 as a Development Manager. In this role, they led a team of developers and QA testers in developing a multi-tier web application for the financial services industry. Tony also served as a ScrumMaster, coaching the team in agile software development processes. Tony managed and enhanced the company's Team Foundation Server and Sharepoint environments to support the agile development process. Tony stayed at StarCompliance until 2014.

During their time at StarCompliance, Tony also briefly worked at Nature Station from 2014 to 2017 as a Business & Web Development Manager. In this role, they implemented an e-commerce solution and developed documented processes to increase the company's efficiency and customer base.

Tony returned to StarCompliance in 2014 and held two roles within the company. Tony started as a Data Analyst Developer and later became a Software Development Team Lead, although the end dates for these roles are not specified.

Tony Fairburn attended Lancaster University from 1988 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science.

Additionally, Tony Fairburn obtained certifications in the following areas:

- In February 2014, they earned the MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certification in Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 from Microsoft.

- In July 2011, they obtained the MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) certification in Visual Studio 2010 Team Foundation Server, Administration, also from Microsoft.
