Candice Cadena has a diverse work experience in the field of student affairs and higher education.
Candice most recently worked at StarRez, Inc. as a Senior Technical Support Specialist for Adirondack Solutions, starting in December 2022.
Prior to that, they served as the Director of Residence Life and Student Conduct at Medaille University from September 2020 to November 2022.
Candice also worked at Grand Valley State University as a Living Center Director from August 2016 to September 2020, and as an Assistant Living Center Director from July 2015 to August 2016.
Candice gained experience as a Residence Hall Counselor at Interlochen Center for the Arts from August 2013 to June 2015.
Candice participated in the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program at NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education from June 2012 to June 2013, where they explored student affairs and higher education as a career path.
Candice started their career as a Resident Advisor at Soka University of America in August 2012, and also held the same role from August 2010 to June 2011.
Candice Cadena holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in College Student Affairs Leadership, which they obtained from Grand Valley State University. Candice pursued their master's degree from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Liberal Arts at Soka University of America, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, Candice attended Universitat de Barcelona in 2011 to enhance their knowledge of Spanish Language and Literature, but did not obtain a degree from this institution. In terms of certifications, they have obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Furthermore, they have acquired certification in Adult CPR/AED, Child CPR, and First Aid from the American Red Cross in October 2014.
