Brandy Compton

Brandy Compton has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Brandy began their professional career as an Executive Assistant at Pinnacle Estate Properties, Inc., where they handled phone calls, managed filing systems, and created marketing materials.

From there, Brandy joined the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) as a Policy & Advocacy Intern. Brandy served as a resource for drafting press statements, compiled research, and developed a Know Your Rights guide for undocumented Latinos.

Brandy then became an Academic Advancement Program (AAP) Peer Counselor at the University of California, Los Angeles. Brandy mentored and advised underrepresented students, organized workshops, and facilitated access to campus resources.

In their role as a Domestic Violence Victim Support Volunteer at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Family Violence Unit, Brandy provided support and resources to victims, assisted with safety planning, and collaborated with City Attorneys.

Brandy also worked as an Office Assistant at Lamb & Kawakami LLP, managing office administration, scheduling meetings, and assisting with accounting tasks.

Brandy gained experience as an Employment Specialist at Chrysalis, where they worked directly with clients to provide employment and case management services. Brandy also served as a liaison between departments and fostered relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners.

During their time at the Los Angeles Unified School District, Brandy worked as a School Mental Health Intern at Kennedy High School, providing support to students and assisting with mental health services.

Brandy recently joined Starry, Inc. as a Brand Ambassador, where they represent the company and promotes its brand.

Brandy Compton's education history begins in 2013 when they attended Los Angeles Valley College, where they pursued a degree in Sociology. Their time there lasted until 2016.

In 2015, Brandy Compton furthered their education by attending the University of California, Los Angeles, where they studied Gender Studies. Brandy completed their degree program in 2017, having focused on Ethnic, Cultural Minority, Gender, and Group Studies.

More recently, from 2020 to 2022, Brandy Compton attended the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, graduating with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. During their studies, they delved into the field of Social & Economic Justice.

In addition to their academic achievements, Brandy Compton also obtained certification in Human Services Management from the Network for Social Work Management and the UCLA Department of Social Welfare in June 2022.
