Gwillym Martin

Gwillym Martin has extensive experience in the field of internal audit and risk management. Gwillym began their career at GT Global as a Senior Benefits Administrator before moving on to Arthur Andersen as a Financial Assurance Auditor. From there, they joined Argonaut Insurance Company as a Senior Internal Auditor, where they planned and implemented financial statement audits and reviewed public SEC filings. Gwillym then worked at United Green Mark as a Senior Financial Analyst, responsible for creating forecasts and business plans for subsidiary high tech companies. Martin then joined Fireman's Fund Insurance Co as a Senior Auditor Financial Analyst, where they conducted complex audits and performed special investigations.

After that, they worked at Esurance as a Senior Internal Audit Financial Analyst, leading financial statement and operations-focused audits and managing the Sarbanes-Oxley Project. Martin then served as the Director of Internal Audit at CRMH - Majestic Insurance Company, where they provided assurance on internal controls and prepared reports for executive management and the Audit Committee. Gwillym also held the position of Vice President of Internal Audit and Risk Management at Majestic Insurance Company, responsible for assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Most recently, Martin has been working at the California State Compensation Insurance Fund, where they started as an Executive Internal Audit Consultant, responsible for reporting audit results to management and developing auditing standards. Gwillym then became the Vice President of Internal Audit Department before being promoted to their current role as the Senior Vice President of Internal Audit. In these positions, they have been responsible for managing audit teams, overseeing the audit calendar, engaging with external auditors and regulators, and developing comprehensive audit strategies and plans.

Gwillym Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy & Financial Management from Golden Gate University between 1998 and 2001. In 2014, they also acquired the certification of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.
