Guru Kalsy

Guru Kalsy has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. From 2023 onwards, they have been working at State Street as the Managing Director, Head of Business Resilience and Continuity. Their responsibilities include strategizing and leading enterprise resiliency, regulatory compliance, and mentoring colleagues on authentic leadership.

From 2015 to 2022, Guru worked at NatWest Group as the Regional Head of Business Resilience and Threat Management APAC. Guru delivered robust business resilience and continuity for multiple locations and led the Threat Management function for the region.

Prior to that, from 2012 to 2022, they worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland Business as the Director and Head of Business Resilience in India. Guru established a new function of Business Resilience across all divisions and pioneered pilot projects to reflect value for the bank.

Before transitioning to the banking sector, Guru worked at Sun Life from 2007 to 2012. Guru held various roles, including Head of Business Support and Planning, Head of Special Projects, and was part of the core senior management team. Guru led multiple functions such as IT infrastructure, real estate infrastructure, fraud and investigations, process controls, and employee engagement.

Guru's early career was in the Indian Army, where they served as a Major from 1995 to 2007. Guru spearheaded infrastructure and operations for the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and actively participated in the Kargil War, receiving a gallantry medal.

Guru Kalsy has a diverse education history. In 1984, they completed their Commerce and Accountancy degree at Mayo College in Ajmer. Guru then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounts Honours) degree at DAV College in Chandigarh from 1992 to 1995. In 1996, Guru Kalsy attended the Indian Military Academy, where they focused on the Art of Warfare, Leadership, Strategic Decisioning, and People Management. In 2006, they obtained a Diploma in Management from the Devi Ahilya Institute in Indore. More recently, in 2017 and 2018, Guru Kalsy completed two Executive Leadership Programs at the Indian School of Business, specializing in Transformational Leadership and 21st Century Leadership in a VUCA world. Additionally, they hold a Coaching Mastery Accreditation from NatWest Group.
