Dr. Barbara Hastie

Dr. Barbara Hastie is a seasoned educational leader with extensive experience in school development and special education. Currently serving as Supervisor of School Development at Ulster BOCES since August 2021, Dr. Hastie leads instructional services and supports eight districts in Ulster County with school improvement and professional development initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Hastie holds an adjunct professor role in the Educational Leadership Program at Mercy University and collaborates on a book project about school leadership with retired Superintendent Patricia Ruane. Previous roles include Coordinator of School Development and Special Education School Improvement Specialist at Ulster BOCES, along with various administrative positions within local school districts. Dr. Hastie's academic credentials include a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from The Sage Colleges and multiple degrees in special education and music therapy from SUNY New Paltz and Juilliard School of Music.
