Alan Levine

Alan Levine is a Board Member at State University System of Florida. Alan has over 25 years of experience in the health care industry. Alan has served as the Florida Group President and Senior Vice President at Health Management Associates, Inc. (HMA), a Fortune 500 company. Alan also served as the Secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals for the state of Louisiana. In this role, Alan was responsible for leading the healthcare response to 2 major hurricanes, the H1N1 Flu Pandemic, and the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Alan also implemented major reforms to Louisiana's health care safety net, including successful passage of major mental health reforms through the legislature. Alan has a passion for improving access to quality healthcare for all citizens and is a strong advocate for public-private partnerships in healthcare.

Alan Levine attended the University of Florida, where they earned a Master of Health Sciences and a Master of Business Administration. Prior to attending the University of Florida, Alan Levine attended Admiral Farragut Academy.
