Nathan Crockett, PhD has extensive experience in data engineering, software engineering, and data science. Nathan began their career in 2004 as an Associate in Research at NOAO, where they learned infrared observing and programming/analysis skills. In 2007, they became a Graduate Student at the University of Michigan, leading a team of 18 from multiple universities in the United States and Europe to model a broadband spectrum. In 2013, they became a Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech, conducting scientific research in a group of 12 individuals from a diverse set of disciplines. In 2015, they joined Malachiarts as a Software Developer, developing front end code for AngularJS and React/Redux applications and back-end code for Ruby on Rails applications within a microservice architecture. In 2017, they joined End Cue as a Software Engineer, Data Visualization, collaborating with the data science team to create interactive data visualizations using D3.js and building two web applications from the ground up. In 2018, they joined RivetAI as a Data Engineer, designing, deploying, and managing data stores used across the company, including the construction of complex, highly normalized relational database schemas, and planning and constructing all aspects of several REST APIs in coordination with the data science team. In 2019, they joined PatientPop Inc. as a Senior Data Engineer, developing machine learning models using Tensorflow/Keras and utilizing modern AWS technologies. Nathan is currently a Senior Data Scientist and Senior Data Engineer at Steady.
Nathan Crockett obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Michigan in 2013. Prior to that, they received their Bachelor's Degree in Astronomy and Physics from the University of Arizona in 2004.
