Gilbert Bahati

Gilbert Bahati is a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Caltech since June 2021, concurrently serving as a tutor with STEAM:CODERS, focusing on mentorship for underrepresented students. Previously, Gilbert worked as an Environmental Engineer and Engineering Technical Intern at Arcadis, and held various research positions at UC Berkeley, including significant contributions to mobile sensing and transportation simulations. A research intern at Google, Gilbert applied deep reinforcement learning to improve transportation outcomes for Google Maps and was recognized as a CS Research Mentorship Program Awardee. With a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley, Gilbert is currently pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Robotics at Caltech.
