Aaron Gilman

Aaron Gilman has an extensive work experience in the animation industry. Aaron is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Steamroller Animation since April 2022, previously holding the position of Chief Creative Officer from April 2021 to April 2022. Before their current role, they worked at DNEG as the Head of Animation from March 2019 to April 2021. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Double Negative, including Animation Director from April 2017 to April 2021 and Animation Supervisor from April 2016 to April 2021. Aaron also worked at Weta Digital as a Senior Character Animator from June 2008 to May 2016 and Animation Supervisor from July 2011 to March 2016. Aaron has also gained experience at Electronic Arts as an Animation Director in 2008, Meteor Studios-Canada as an Animation Supervisor from 2006 to 2007, Ubisoft Montreal as an Animation Director from 2004 to 2006, Tippett Studio as a Senior Animator in 2003, and Meteor Studios as an Animator/Lead Animator from 2001 to 2003. Additionally, they have been a Member VFX Branch at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since July 2020.

Aaron Gilman completed a Certificate in 3D Animation from Vancouver Film School in 2001. Prior to that, they attended The University of British Columbia from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
