Darren Steele's work experience begins in 1999, when they joined Microsoft as a Group Product Manager. Darren led product management and marketing efforts for over 30 software titles, including a $200 million Xbox games portfolio. Darren also led consumer marketing for Windows in the U.S. In 2006, they joined Phoenix Area Startups as VP of Marketing and Publishing. From 2009 to 2016, they worked at Mindspace, initially as a Strategy Director and later as Principal and Strategy Director, where they led the turnaround of the creative agency and provided strategic leadership for clients such as Time Warner, Google, and Starbucks. In 2016, Darren became an SVP of Marketing, Training, and Communications at Axon, the global public safety tech company. Darren was responsible for leading the company's rebranding effort and building the largest tech conference in policing. In 2020, they joined CampusLogic as the Chief Marketing Officer and played a pivotal role in the company's growth and subsequent acquisition by Ellucian. Darren then worked as an Advisor at iomete (YC W22) and Sendoso, assisting with their marketing and go-to-market strategies. Finally, in 2022, Darren founded SteelFin, where they serve as the Fractional CMO and Founder, helping VC/PE-backed CEOs invest in storytelling rather than solely focusing on resources for marketing.

Darren Steele holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business. Darren also attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management for studies in Strategic Segmentation & Value Proposition Design. Furthermore, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Advertising from Brigham Young University. Additionally, Darren participated in the A360 Executive Program at Singularity University.
