Okan Akin

Okan Akin has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Okan is currently working as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Stellar Bank since October 2022. Prior to this, they had worked at Allegiance Bank where they held multiple roles, including President & Chief Risk Officer, Chief Administrative Officer & Chief Risk Officer, and Regional President and Deputy Chief Credit Officer from 2013 to 2022. Before that, they had worked at Independence Bank, N.A. as President and CEO and Chief Credit Officer from 2002 to 2013. Okan started their career at Sterling Bank as a Vice President - Commercial Lender from 1997 to 2002.

Okan Akin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Houston from 1993 to 1996. Okan then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance and Financial Management Services from the same university from 1996 to 1997.
