Simon Dawson

CEO at StemGen

In the year 2000, Simon returned to England and became a tennis pro, obtaining a top twenty-five ranking in England playing doubles with Rosco Tanner (world ranked top-five player). Simon became a full-time tennis and fitness instructor, which lead him to becoming the top salesperson and marketing manager at England’s flagship club, Next Generation. However, this was short-lived as he needed to be more physical and a desk job was not where his heart was. With motorsports in his blood, Simon started working with his father, Ian, at race events training drivers and working on team development. He also began supporting the well-being of drivers from other teams, including Audi, Ferrari and others. Additionally, he played an integral part in preparing numerous Formula 1 and Indy car drivers that are still actively racing today. Simon was an active part in the support of the Le Mans class winning Lola 675 with his father at the helm and continued to develop client support for the Lola Diesel race team after the win.

At the conclusion of the Lola program, Simon was offered the prestigious position of Business Development Manager of the factory support Ferrari race team, Risi Competizione. Simon was part of GT Championship winning team with two Le Mans class wins and record-breaking wins in the American Le Mans Series with the Ferrari 430 and 458. On June 13, 2008, the day the Ferrari 430 won its first 24 Hours of Le Mans in class, Simon’s son, Dylan Thomas Dawson, was born. This completely changed Simon’s passions and goals to build a family race business that he could expand upon well into the future. Simon left Ferrari to join his father on the Project Libra Race program, which developed the Radical Ford Eco Boost race engine and it’s first race car in 2012. This led to his permanent move from North Carolina to Houston to develop a full Radical dealership and track day business, which he runs with his father today.

Before creating StemGen Inc., Simon and his father enjoyed great success with Radical Texas selling track day cars, track day experiences and testing and developing the cars and technologies that will bring them race championships well into the future. The driving force behind Simon’s passion for motorsports is family, and the dream of making racing an obtainable pastime and sport for all families and inspire the future linking the real and virtual worlds with an investment into esport for the ultimate experience.
