Dr. Jacklyn Chisholm has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Dr. Jacklyn is currently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Step Forward, a non-profit organization focused on transforming lives in Greater Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. Prior to this, they founded and served as the President of IT'S WORTH IT CONSULTING, LLC, where they motivated individuals to pursue their dreams through education and personal investment. Dr. Jacklyn also held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Global Music Cultural Center, a non-profit cultural center and museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Chisholm was a member of the Leadership Team at the United Negro College Fund, assisting with fundraising activities and organizational strategies. Dr. Jacklyn has also served as the Vice President of Planning and External Affairs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, where they led strategic planning efforts and managed government relations activities. Dr. Chisholm's past experience includes roles at Case Western Reserve University, where they held positions such as Associate Vice President, Director of the Office of Community Relations, Coordinator of Recruitment and Placement, and Admission Counselor. Dr. Jacklyn began their career at May Corporation as an Assistant Buyer and Department Manager, managing multiple departments and overseeing various aspects of inventory and customer relations. Overall, Dr. Chisholm has a strong background in leadership, community partnerships, strategic planning, and fundraising.
Dr. Jacklyn Chisholm has a diverse education history. Dr. Jacklyn holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychological and Educational Anthropology, which they earned from Case Western Reserve University between the years 1994 and 2002. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychological Anthropology at the same university from 1991 to 1994. Dr. Chisholm began their academic journey at Case Western Reserve University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Medical Anthropology from 1977 to 1985.
In addition to their degrees from Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Chisholm has pursued further education and professional development. Dr. Jacklyn obtained a Certificate in Women's Leadership Forum from Harvard Business School in 2022. Previously, they completed the Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School in 2020. Dr. Chisholm also holds a Certificate in Executive Education, specifically in Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management, from Harvard Business School (2015). Furthermore, they obtained a Certificate in Executive Education - Government Relations from The Wharton School in 2009.
To enhance their knowledge and skills in nonprofit management, Dr. Chisholm pursued various certifications. Dr. Jacklyn completed the Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education program - Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management at Bryn Mawr College in 2004. Additionally, they obtained certificates in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management in 2003.
Dr. Chisholm's commitment to continuous growth and development is evident in their future education plans. Dr. Jacklyn is currently enrolled in the Executive Education Certificate program in Authentic Leadership Development at Harvard Business School, scheduled to be completed in 2023. Dr. Jacklyn is also pursuing a Certificate in Authentic Leadership Development from Harvard Business School Executive Education, expected to be completed in the same year.
